I’ve had a thrill of a life and many goals ahead of me. Of course, my life has had its ups and it’s downs, but I try to now focus on everything good throughout my life and keep a positive attitude. My life is currently stress-free, and I’m not saying that it will stay at way, but it’s definitely helped me to focus on the good things and finish my homework as quickly as I can. I’ve thought of and begun acting on a multitude of different goals for my life. Click the “read more” button to read about some of the interesting things I’ve gone through in my life from my past, my present, and my future! PastI’ve lived in Muncie, IN my entire life and have gone to The Compass Church my entire life as well. I’ve gone to several different schools, but my longest was homeschooling where I’ve gained so many amazing friends. I had a rough past, stuff that I’m not ready to put onto the internet for everyone in the world to see, but my past was not all rough and today I plan on focusing on the other things that happened in my past that was interesting and formed me into the person I am today. I started my freshman year of high school at Burris Laboratory School. If you are unsure of what that is, Burris Laboratory School is owned by Ball State University. It is a school used to test new ideas, and for education majors to practice teaching. Of course, there are teachers who are constant and full-time, who are amazing. The transfer from homeschooling to a laboratory school was a drastic change. Not only was I learning to adapt to normal public school with things such as firm due dates and working in groups for projects, which weren’t as normal in homeschooling. I was also learning to adapt to waking up at a specific time every day, having home work almost everyday, and having to deal with a lot more people and their personalities and friendships. I started dating Asher during my Junior year of high school and it was a lot easier because Asher and I are okay with taking breaks in texting to focus on our work as well as helping each other understand assignments. You can read more about how Asher and I started dating here: 1 Year, 7 Months. My Longest Relationship. Throughout my entire educational career, I’ve gone to several different, but amazing schools. You can view which schools I’ve gone to on the About Me page on this website. Each one of the schools that I had gone to were each a wonderful school system based on family community values. They all made sure to make it feel as though they were your entire family, for better or for worse. It’s such a great community that I know that even if I was to contact any of the students or teachers from any of the schools, even students who I did not get along with or talk to, we would be able to talk and reminisce about our days at school and the changes that have occurred since we’ve left as well as what is going on in our lives today. I’ve grown up as an only child, but I’ve been friends with an amazing family who has adopted me as one of their own and I absolutely claim as my own. The Wolfe family has been with me since my mother and Kim Wolfe were Secret Sisters at church. Secret Sisters was a group who gave gifts and encouraging letters to each other on a weekly basis and then met together during Christmas to reveal who they were. After that, they quickly became best friends and once I began homeschooling the Wolfe family, my mother, and I began to go to co-ops together and even work on group lesson plans together at the Wolfe’s home. I grew up with the boys and we went to so many activities together that we have now been claiming each other as family and will continue doing so forever. PresentCurrently I am enrolled in Ivy Tech Community college’s ASAP Program for Business. You can read more about how my college life is going here: Starting College Life ASAP. So far into this semester, I have 4 A’s, 1 B, and 1 currently ungraded class. I’ve been doing well at finishing my homework before the weekend so that I can actually relax and enjoy my weekend. Other than college though, I have a lot of things going on in life. I regularly go to church as I have my entire life, but Asher and I are beginning to get involved in a life group as well as looking into two young adults groups and taking Jordan Wolfe along for our ride to looking into them all. On Saturday nights, we’re beginning to go to Ball State’s Late Night events which I think is something we are going to want to keep up, even if just one Saturday out of the month because it’s really important to us to keep in touch and go to events where we can simply just have fun together and talk about how are lives are going. Something that I always have, and most likely always will enjoy watching / listening to is spoken word poetry about a multitude of different topics. A few of my favorite spoken word artists are Shane Koyczan, Jefferson Bethke. Koyczan writes about his personal life and his views on how the world works. Bethke writes about religion and his experiences with it and views on it, in a way he preaches his opinions on religion and other topics with religion in mind through his spoken word poetry. I think these artists have definitely impacted who I am today and inspired me to write the poetry that I have in the past, and continue to write throughout my present and my future. It’s interesting to hear other people’s opinions on the world said in a musically way. It turns lectures and speeches into a more interesting topic to listen to. I’m of course working on this blog, but also on different parts of this website. If you haven’t looked around on the different tabs of this website, I definitely suggest that you look more into it. Under the “My Artwork” tab, I have 4 different sub tabs that are categories of my different type of artwork. There are photographs of my 3D art such as ceramics and jewelry, there are also photographs of some of my paintings, collages, and drawings. There is also a tab listed for my writing and poetry that I have written over several years. Some other artwork that I have posted under that tab is some digital drawings and commissioned artwork. Another tab that is on my website is “College Journals” which has some of the journals that I have written and received excellent grades on. Some of the writings were creative writing assignments where we created stories from small writing prompts. Some of the assignments were journals about me and different questions they had for the class about their student’s lives. There is also a link listed on several different pages to Aureate Marketing’s website which is still a work in progress. There are several other tabs on my website, so I suggest that you go through and check it out once you are done reading this blog post! FutureIn my future I hope to own my own marketing business named Aureate Marketing. You can read more about my plans for Aureate Marketing in here: Gears, Fears, and Aspirations. You can also read more about it in a future post called A Brilliant and Golden Opportunity (link will be attached once the post is created). I’ve already spoken and will speak a lot of that business plan though, so it’s time to tell you my other plans for my future. I plan on transferring to Ball State University after I earn my Associate’s degree from Ivy Tech in 2018. At Ball State I haven’t figured out exactly what I want to major in yet, but some subjects that I am interested in pursuing studying are business, marketing, telecommunications, graphic design, and religious studies. In my future, I definitely want to continue this blog. I’m not sure yet if I’ll change it into a diary of sorts of what my 2 weeks are filled with, or continue on with writing “stories” of sort about different topics. Leave some comments below on what you as my reader think I should write about! I really like writing for this blog because it gives me a creative way to express my thoughts and ideas about different things that surround my life and make me who I am today. It’s a way for me to think about something other than my school life and create in a way that I do not normally create. Also, it’s a way for some of my family and friends to know what’s been going on in my life and my views of it in a thoughtfully put manner. I have trouble putting all of my thoughts together in a way that I want to share it through text or calling, but through writing this blog I can put all of my thoughts in one place and in a manner that makes sense and fully expressing my opinions. Another goal that I have set for my future is to slowly start working on my art again so that eventually I will be able to do it for my future business and possibly other businesses as well. During my senior year at Burris I took a large majority of art classes; I enjoyed them all, but I definitely got a bit overwhelmed with how many art pieces I was having to create every week. However after a few months of taking a break from art, I’m definitely beginning to miss it again. I don’t plan on doing it with a timeline in place, but to do it just for fun. One way I plan to start creating art again is to create small artist trading cards. I’ve been asked to do a few and I had trouble with my artist block, but now I have found several ideas for the artist trading cards. I also hope to begin working on my photography again, I believe that my photography is my best form of art. With that in mind, I plan on working on some Senior Pictures and whatever else comes as request to me that I can handle on top of my schoolwork. The other goal that I have in mind for myself is to of course have a family, job, and home. This goal is something far into my future though, because I plan on not getting married until after college, a job is something that I cannot logically pursue until after I finish my degree at Ivy Tech because the schoolwork takes up a lot of my time, and of course, I cannot purchase a home until I have a job. I plan on not moving out of my parent’s home until after college though, that way I can save up for things such as a car, a house or an apartment, as well as different tools that I will need in my future for Aureate Marketing. I’m excited for what’s to come in my future and I’m already working on saving and investing into tools for my future. I’m also working on a business plan for Aureate Marketing as well as different plans for the other goals in my life for my future. This entire blog is just a small glimpse into my past, present, and goals for my future of course, but it can give you a small window to look into who I am as a person. My life as a whole is going very well and I’m very happy with where it’s heading. I hope you continue coming back to check out the blog posts I will have in my future and check out the rest of this website! This entire blog is just a small glimpse into my past, present, and goals for my future of course, but it can give you a small window to look into who I am as a person. Can't wait to hear more about your business plan! I'm wondering where I could find more information about it, Muncie definitely needs a better marketing plan and I'm curious as to how you think you can help better that.
